Interests [Links]
[Contact
Me]

I have a substantial and eclectic interests, yet at this
time I can barely think of any. Of course, I love art, music,
literature, theatre, and films. I also enjoy computers, cooking, drawing,
creating art, magic, opera, learning, and many more things.
I love to spend time with my family and my friends. I love
doing things to help out with the community as well. There is so much
life to live and so little time to do it all in.
The following are just a few things I am interested in.
These are not in any specific order. This page will grow.

FlyLady.net - I have
recently discovered this site. The FlyLady is your personal coach to help
you gain control of your house and home. My house suffers from CHAOS
(Can't Have Anyone Over Syndrome) and with the help of FlyLady this will
change. It is a great site and I highly recommend this to everyone.

Science Fiction - I have discovered that I quite
enjoy science fiction. My family and I have joined the Science Fiction
London Reading Club. It is a lot of fun.
|
 |
Travel - I'm a big travel buff. My family and I
would love
to travel around the world. So far, we have not done much travelling,
however, when we do, we will use the links below to help us plan our
trips.

The Vinyl Café
is one of my favorite CBC radio programs. I listen to it on
Sundays, when I pick up Alexander from St. Paul's Anglican Cathedral
(where Alexander is in the choir). Alexander misses the first half
of the show, but we listen to the second half together as we drive (very
slowly) home. Alexander and I saw Stuart McLean live in London when he was
doing his Christmas 2003 show. It was a wonderful experience.

Sea-Monkeys
- Yes, Sea Monkeys! When I was
young, I would see advertisements for these "Instant Live Pets" in the
back of comic books. They would show a Sea-Monkey family, with mother,
father, daughter and son. Mother would be wearing pearls! I always wanted
to order these, but never did. It was just as well, as a child, I
would have been disappointed. However, when I saw starter set a few years
ago, I purchased it and have been hooked since. Sea-Monkeys are a
variety of brine shrimp. They are very easy to care for, and very relaxing
to watch swim around their tank. I keep a tank of Sea-Monkeys at work.

Alex Colville
is my all-time favorite Visual Artist/Painter. He happens to be Canadian
and happens to be contemporary. There are a lot of artists that I like and
enjoy the work of, including Harris from the Group of Seven, Christopher
Pratt, Mary Pratt, Ken Danby, many of the old masters, and so on. I really
don't have room on this page to name every artist I like, that would be a
whole section on to itself! I love Alex Colville's use of realism to
convey everyday life. He and his wife are often in his paintings and it is
like looking at a visual diary of their life. I admire him for marrying
Rachel in 1942 and still being together after all these years. Alex
Colville strikes me as being a really nice person as well as a great
artist.

Alex Colville
-
This site has a lot of broken links and is not working
properly, but it does give you some other Colville links to view. The
Bio is charming. |

Saving Dinner - I
learned about his site from the FlyLady site. Leanne Ely has written
a wonderful cookbook called Saving Dinner. She also has this site
with all kinds of goodies. She has a menu mailer that is sent out weekly
(for a nominal fee) that includes a six day menu, shopping list, and
recipes. She has regular and low carb mailers, as well you can choose 6,
4, or 2 serving mailers. She has sample mailers on her site for you
to try out before committing to her weekly mailer. I highly
recommend you try them out. They are delicious! (I always make the full
amounts and same the leftovers for lunch the next day.) We subscribe to
the low carb mailer because of Anthony's diabetes.
